January Foodie Events in Metro Vancouver - West Coast Food

Like most of us, you probably spent December in unabashed overindulgence. We’re here to ask: why stop now? Here’s a list of events around Metro Vancouver to keep the food party going well into the new year.

The Ultimate Sunday Brunch: Unlocking Secrets of a Favourite Weekly Meal, January 8

Level up your brunch game at this cooking demonstration in the Market Kitchen at Lonsdale Quay Market. This class will demystify the fables that make preparing eggs seem such a tricky endeavor, and teach the ways of Japanese Soufflé Pancakes, Brioche French Toast, Eggs Benedict and more – the ways the pros do it.

Dine Out Vancouver Festival, January 20 to February 5

Canada’s largest celebration of food and drink returns to communities all around Metro Vancouver for its 21st season. As if 350+ restaurants offering up special 3-course meals for anywhere between $20 and $65 weren’t enough, there’s also a full plate of unique culinary events happening, from gelato-making classes to sea foraging trips. And with exclusive Dine Out hotel deals and packages, it’s a great time to take a foodie weekend in the world’s newest Michelin-starred city.

Live the Paella Experience Long Table Dinner, January 20 to February 5

The Paella Guys and Dageraad Brewing present this 4-course international meeting of Spain’s national dish and the Belgian-style beers Dageraad has made its name in at its Burnaby brewery. True to the Paella Guy experience, the big dish will be out so you can watch the magic happen and interact with the chefs. Beer pairings and tapas will also be available throughout the night.

Street Food City, January 21 to 29

Vancouver’s original street food festival is back and celebrating its 11th anniversary – giving you a delicious opportunity to sample from a collection of Vancouver’s Street Food carts all in one convenient location, in the heart of downtown outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. There’ll be tented tables to hang with friends and music to enjoy as we celebrate how far the city’s outdoor dining scene has come over the last decade.

The Perfect Pairing – Bottles and Bites, January 28

The Rotary Club of Coquitlam presents this exclusive wine and food event with proceeds benefiting SHARE Family and Community Services and other Rotary initiatives. Meet friends and make new ones at this sit-down event where you’ll sample seven local wines alongside delicious food pairings curated especially for the night, as well as learn a little about the wine-making process along the way.
