Seeing as 2020 has been a year like no other, Dine Out Vancouver has decided to follow suit!
We noticed the new patios popping up all over the city, and took it as our cue to open things up a bit. Welcome to Dine OutSide, the same high standard of fantastic food, all served in a safe, socially-distanced environment. It hasn’t been easy hearing the low rumbling of Vancouver appetites yearning for a night out, so from Aug 21 to Sept 21, we’ve put together an impressive roster of restaurants to help curb all that growling.

A date night staple, Chambar never fails to communicate the romance of food. Share a bowl of their famous mussels with your choice of tomato coconut cream or white wine butter sauce and you’re already off to a great start. If it’s a first date, try to practice decorum while lapping up the sauce with the fries, but it won’t be easy.

Sprezzatura- Any Pizza
We’re cheating a bit with this one, but making us pick a favourite among the authentic Napoli-style pies is just unreasonable. Relatively new to Mount Pleasant, Sprezzatura has kept the neighbourhood well supplied with fresh pizza and Italian antipasti since opening last year. Described as ‘Verache Pizza Napoletana’, the pizzas at Sprezzatura are soft, fluffy, and best eaten with a knife and fork.

The Pawn Shop’s Crispy Avocado Taco
If you’re feeling peckish on Granville Street, make this your first order of business. Crispy avocado, white cabbage, pico de gallo, garlic-lime aioli, and a splash of hot sauce. Fold it together, and you’ve got the bright taste of summer no matter what the forecast is saying. Pair with a margarita for best results.

Jamjar Canteen’s Lebanese Tapas Feast
The spot on The Drive for Lebanese, Jamjar is bonafide comfort food. All made from scratch, this 11(!) dish feast includes a trio of hummus, baharat spiced chicken wings, and finishes with fresh house-made baklava.
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the whole feast can be made vegan as well.

Pourhouse’s Pourhouse Burger
Known in burger circles as one of the best in the city, the Pourhouse Burger proves that simplicity is an art. All you need is a handful of delicious ingredients, and you’re set. In this case, it’s all about the 40-day dry-aged Cache Creek chuck steak, aged cheddar, and pork belly. On paper, it might sound basic, but the first taste is complex beyond words.
