White Rock
Zapoteca
Located on East Beach along White Rock’s Marine Drive, this little Mexican spot is prime territory for sunset watching. Stop by for their superb happy hour on weekdays between 2-5 and indulge in our favourite margaritas in town, and a plate of delicious nachos.
Five Kitchen and Raw Oyster Bar
Moving right along to West Beach, Five has quickly become our go-to for freshly shucked oysters and bubbly at golden hour. Their patio has a fantastic view of the White Tock pier (one of the longest in Canada), and with a menu of fresh seafood, it’s easy to see why this is a date night fave.
The Boathouse
One of the longest-running restaurants in White Rock, this one has become a beach staple with good reason. The rooftop patio gives panoramic views of the sprawling shore, and a sky full of kites on a day with a bit of wind. Order a signature caesar with prawn garnish to complete your moment.
South Surrey

Founded by one of BC’s top chefs, Vikram Vij, this modern Indian eatery is renowned for its cuisine as much as its fantastic patio. With a thatched roof, brick floor and grape vines winding around the fence, you get a relaxing feeling like you’ve just arrived at a beautiful hostel after a lengthy flight. Order a mango lassi and zen out for a bit.
Sunflower Cafe
This quaint neighbourhood cafe is the perfect spot to bring a book during any season of the year. But when summer rolls around and they open their back patio, it’s a whole new reason to visit. Like stepping into someone’s warm backyard garden, this patio exudes a welcoming atmosphere. Great for stopping for a sandwich after a stroll along Crescent Beach.
Hooked Fish Bar
Venture further down Beecher street on Crescent Beach, and you’ll come to this waterside gem. With a wraparound veranda, you can get a full view of the stretching horizon. Savour the sun while you do likewise with a bowl of fresh mussels.
