Tour: Fraser Valley Wineries - West Coast Food

You don’t have to go all the way to the Okanagan to taste world-class BC wine! Fraser Valley wineries have been quietly growing world-class grapes and producing award-winning wines just minutes away from downtown Vancouver.

Let WestCoastFood and our transportation partner, Burnaby Tours, be your host as we explore the wineries of the Fraser Valley.

On this tour, you’ll visit:

Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery

This family owned and operated destination farm and estate winery is our first stop. We’ll enjoy a tour and then settle into the special event tent with a beautiful cheese board and 5 samples of Krause Berry’s award-winning fruit wines. After the tasting you’re free to explore the farm and do a little shopping in the market before we move on to the next stop.

Chaberton Estate Winery

Established in the Fraser Valley in 1975 by Claude & Inge Violet, Chaberton Estate Winery is responsible for putting the Fraser Valley on the Canadian wine region map. Over 40 years later, and under new ownership, the winery continues to produce outstanding VQA wines. We’ll relax in the private tasting room while savouring samples of the finest varietals, then we’ll have a chance to check out  the vineyard, barrel room and wine shop.

Backyard Vineyards

Backyard Vineyards have been producing award-winning varietals, blended and bubbly wines from 100% BC grapes grown on-site since 2009. Many of their wines are complemented with fruit from the Fraser Valley and South Okanagan and as such, they are proud to call themselves “your very local winery”. We’ll take part in a tour of the barrel room and production room before enjoying a wine tasting and a sample of bubbly in the main tasting hall.
