Richmond, Vancouver and North Shore Farmers Markets - West Coast Food

Summertime is synonymous with weekend visits to the local farmer’s market.

Picture this: it’s a weekend morning, the sun is shining, and the farmer’s market is abuzz with shoppers and vendors selling artisanal honey, boisterous gleaming vegetables, and crusty loaves of pungent sourdough. You’ve got a wagon full of goodies in one hand, and an iced lavender latte in the other. Maybe your dog is leashed around your wrist, wiggling their nose as they pass by the cheese table. Not to get too Nancy Meyers about it since farmer’s market weekends don’t have to be a fairy tale – but there are many scattered across Metro Vancouver just waiting for you to visit and have your best weekend ever.

North Shore Markets

Lonsdale Quay Farmers Market

In addition to the talented bakers, jam makers, and honey gatherers, the Lonsdale Farmers’ Market welcomes some of the province’s most popular organic and conventional farmers every week as they set up all along the boardwalk and breathe in the ocean air.”

Sounds like the opening scene of a rom com, doesn’t it? Make Saturday morning a cinematic adventure and hop on the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay for a lively mix of vendors and boutique shopping, right on the water. Visit every Saturday until October 29 from 10- 3 PM.

Vancouver

Vancouver Farmer’s Markets

There are farmer’s markets in almost every region of Vancouver, popping up on Saturday or Sunday at cherished spots like Trout Lake, Riley Park, and The West End. Find your closest market, and make it a part of your weekend routine. My personal favourite vendors to catch are Tall Shadow Bakery, Goodfish Seafood, and Creekside Cheese + Creamery.

Richmond

This one happens to be open on weekdays. Visit every Tuesday, rain or shine, from 12-4 PM.
