Argo Cafe – Vancouver
Seen on: You Gotta Eat Here
Another long-standing area staple, Argo Cafe has been serving the Olympic Village area long before it was even called that! Opened in 1954, the cozy diner was taken over in 2004 by brothers-in-law Denis Larouche and Kirby Wong. One of the bigger names in the Vancouver food scene, Chef Tojo is credited with inventing the California Roll! The unique and modern ambience creates a stylish setting to enjoy traditional sushi with a contemporary flair. Since it opened in 2011, the restaurant on the ground floor of Hotel Georgia has racked up international awards and accolades. Recognized for its compelling and technically skilled cuisine, deep and diverse wine list, inventive cocktail program, and warm, genuine hospitality, it’s no wonder you’ve likely heard about it already, or caught its TV appearance.

Vij’s – Vancouver

On the local food scene, Vikram Vij needs little introduction. He’s contributed to countless food segments of local TV and been an enduring presence on culinary culture across the country. Having made appearances on Top Chef Canada, Chopped Canada, and Recipe to Riches, it’s no surprise that his flagship restaurant on Cambie Street gets the attention it does.
