It’s no secret the past two years have been challenging for the event industry. Pre-pandemic our free community events brought together 10,000 people to enjoy a selection of 20-25 food trucks, 20 market vendors, live and roaming entertainers and community activations. We visited cities such as Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and Port Moody.
While 2020 & 2021 didn’t go as planned, with a bit of creativity, the GVFTF pivoted by bringing food trucks to local communities using a drive-thru model. In combination with scaled down market events, the GVFTF was able to put on over 20 weekends worth of community festivals in 2021! We are looking forward to building new events and locations for 2022!
Additionally, to further support our vendors we launched the food truck booking program to assist those looking to book a food truck for their event or business find the perfect truck! To support our local makers and other local businesses in BC, we created @BCshoplocal for our community to shop their favourite local stores directly online
