Spirited (And Free Spirited) Cocktails to Toast the Season With - West Coast Food

Since we’re entering the season of staff parties and long-winded toasts, we figured we’d put together a quick menu of sippers worth raising a glass with. Three cocktails and three mocktails, these local libations are the perfect way to let your boss know that you’re making good use of the open bar (fingers-crossed).

Night of a Thousand Eyes at Keefer Bar

This one smacks of that “special” coffee you take up Robson Street to keep your hands warm while holiday shopping, or to keep you from lashing out during the long lines to the check out. Kahlua, amaro, espresso and a salted caramel sake.

Vancouver: 135 Keefer Street

The Fall Negroni at Nightingale

While it feels like Winter, it’s still technically Fall, and whatever, it’s always a good time for a Negroni. This one is infused with traditional holiday flavours of fig and rosemary.

Cozy up to this popular distillery’s tasting room favourite made from sparkling wine, their very own Junicopia Gin (“juniper on juniper on juniper”) with the added warmth of thyme and honey.

Tuscan Sunset at Piva Modern Italian

Piva has a passion for local ingredients and traditional Italian cuisine crafted using modern techniques – and the mouthwatering menu includes several notable non-alcoholic brews. We love the Tuscan Sunset with its delicate blend of lavender and rose syrup, lemon and soda. It always leaves us supremely satisfied.

787 Columbia Street, New Westminster

The Lavanda Fizz at The Acorn

Lavanda Fizz Mocktail at The Acorn

The acclaimed vegan and vegetarian eatery boasts a fantastic cocktail list that creatively incorporates herbs and fruits with non-alcoholic options that are just as complex and thoughtfully crafted. The Lavanda Fizz, made with lavender, fresh lemon, sparkling water, and bitters is one of our faves.

3995 Main Street, Vancouver

The Hey Hibiscus at Cactus Club

Hey Hibiscus from Cactus Club

Maybe this is cheating, but the Cactus Club cocktail list features a nice mix of classics and feisty seasonal options (Frosé, anyone?), as well as a couple of flavourful spirit-free concoctions. The Hey Hibiscus offers a tasty break from winter with its breezy beach vibe. The floral notes of hibiscus and rose are layered with a fruity kick care of ginger, white peach, and lemon.
