Fridays on Front is back, bringing artisan markets, live music, delicious food, and craft beers to Front Street in New Westminster every Friday evening this summer.
Now in its third year, the free series showcases a myriad of food trucks and micro breweries, with new vendors joining each week, for eight weeks in July and August.
Fridays on Front will also feature guest food trucks from New Westminster’s Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest, North America’s largest one-day food truck festival, in July.
Of course, with so many tasty options, it can be tough to know where to tickle your tastebuds first. To help you out, here’s our guide to where to eat at Fridays on Front.
Prebāk
Prebāk is a cute little food truck that serves up raw cookie dough made with heat-treated flour, organic cane sugar, and chia seeds instead of egg. Flavours bound to bring back childhood memories include original chocolate chips, peanut butter, and s’mores.
Salty’s Lobster Shack
This brand new truck specializes in 100% Canadian lobster caught off the coast of Nova Scotia. Created with ingredients straight off the lobster and seafood boats in Halifax, Salty’s lobster roll and lobster bisque look almost too luxurious to be true.
Bruncheria
The Bruncheria team have created a sweet and savoury secret for Fridays on Front in the form of Funky Pancake Tacos! Pancakes made on the spot will be filled with BBQ pulled pork, smoked chicken with guacamole, vegetarian jackfruit, or fresh berries with cream.
The Frying Pan
This fusion food truck serves a unique mix of Korean and Nashville cuisine. Their fried chicken sandwich is always a hit—the question is, how spicy do you like it? Choose from “Cheese, Hot & Sweet Honey Garlic Jalapeño”, “Feel the Burn”, or “Fire Starter”!
Chickpea
Chickpea makes Mediterranean-inspired, delicious plant-based comfort food. Fill your pita with their tasty signature falafel, or opt for other well kept secrets like sabich, made from crunchy eggplant and yam, or kasum, featuring crispy cauliflower and turmeric mushrooms.
Shameless Buns
This brand new Filipino food truck shares fun and funky pandesal bun creations with cheeky names like “Not Your Lola’s Chicken Adobo”, “Sir Spam-A-Lot”, and “3Some”. Their Little Sausage sweet and spicy pork and signature Sinigang fries will blow your mind.
Say Hello Sweets
Say Hello Sweets serves amazing, small batch vegan ice cream, crafted from a blend of coconut milk, homemade cashew milk, organic agave nectar, and other natural ingredients. Bring on the dairy-free ice cream sandwiches!
Boca’o
This brand new food truck is the first in Canada to serve up an authentic Spanish menu, featuring mouthwatering potato, onion, and egg tortilla española, serrano ham aged 24 months and bechamel fritters, vegetarian gazpacho, and a range of filling sandwiches.
Fridays on Front is easily accessed via the Expo Line SkyTrain at New Westminster Station and takes place every Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm from July 5 to August 23 on the 600-block of Front Street, New Westminster. For a full schedule, see downtownnewwest.ca.
