Coquitlam’s new exhibit Heirlooms & Treasures is about the ways in which heritage is preserved from one generation to the next. Food and recipes are a prime example of things that are passed down from generation to generation. Chocolate is a familiar treat, but what do we know about its origin and uses?

Aphrodisiacs, rituals, and magical properties; the history of chocolate is as rich as the flavour. Join us for an informative lecture at Mackin House by Dr. Shea Henry, as she details chocolate’s origins, scope, and role in our modern world from marketing to manufacturing. Plus, enjoy this historical journey while tasting chocolate & wine pairings!

Registration required. Adults ages 19+. $25.00 per person.
