Duso’s Italia
Tucked away in Granville Market, is Duso’s Italia. Duso’s own brands of pasta are actually born in B.C, but they import a variety of foods from all over including Italy and Spain. From Sicily’s own Agostino Recca brand of famous anchovies, Ines Rosales’ olive oil tortas (Orange and Original) from Castilleja de la Cuesta, La Molisana’s numerous pastas and risottos, there’s an abundance of European cultural items to take home!
And don’t forget to check out their homemade counter filled with cheeses, raviolis, arancini and desserts including tiramisu.

Vancouver: Public Market, 1689 Johnston St
Cilantro & Jalapeño
Located in Lonsdale Quay’s Market, this authentic Mexican vendor has all you need to cook up a storm! They have a whole fridge stacked with fresh guac, shredded cheeses, spicy salsa, pickled jalapeños and chorizo sausages and tortillas. Huge tins of yummy whole pintos and black beans are also available along with Jarritos sodas and sweets.
If you’d like a snack while shopping, they cook tamales, enchiladas and tostadas to order, also available via Skip The Dishes, Doordash and Uber Eats.
My favourite part of the visit was the customer service. The two young Spanish-speaking guys at the counter greeted me with a “Hola amiga” (Hello friend) and were super helpful when I was deciding what items to grab. So, I’ll be back and so should you!

Best of British
Steveston Village is home to this homage to die-hard British eats. And it doesn’t hold back on just food, even the decor is quintessential. I’m talking pictures of London double decker buses here and teacups on sale there. It doesn’t get any more traditional than that, darling! You can get your hands on pork pies, cherry bakewell tarts, clotted cream fudge, aah! Bisto gravy, HP sauces and Cadbury’s chocolates.
And they even have an adjoining sweet store which sells candies from all over the world, right next door!

Blue Mountain Produce
Owned by Janet Tan and her family, this food produce shop has many different foodie goods. From Buono Japanese vegan mochi ice cream desserts, Hong Kong’s popular VLT lemon drink and brands from Quebec including GoGo Quinoa chips, as well as local producers House of Yee’s dumplings, and Chinese freshly baked pineapple, pork and coconut buns. Our mouths are watering just thinking about ‘em all!

Holland Shopping Centre
A Dutch delight, Holland Shop has a variety of snacks, gift baskets – featuring Gouda cheeses and VanDelft Café Noirs coffee, cheese accessories and “warm up” treats. There’s Kruidenthee (herbal tea), traditional Van Delft cookies and chocolates and Venco old-school sweets such as mints, liquorice and fruit drops!
