The sun is shining (or at least the rain is warm) and everything is fresh and in season. If you love local, sustainable baked delicacies and goods and the incredible abundance of vegetables and farm fresh ingredients in summer, then Metro Vancouver’s farmers markets are a special treat that are definitely worth making time for.

From food trucks and coffee to music and locally-made jams and dips among the vegetables and fruits, there are wonderful farmers markets on weekly in summer in Surrey and Langley.

Surrey

Surrey Urban Farmers Market

Taking place on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the parking lot, the vibrant, multi-cultural non-profit Surrey Urban Farmers Market is located next to a huge park, so you can bring the family to hang out, play and picnic while you peruse stalls with local farmers big and small, food producers, artisans, community groups and enjoy live entertainment, community workshops and kids’ activities.

Clayton Community Farmers Market

The Clayton Market is a community-based market that takes place bi-weekly (every other Sunday) at Clayton Heights Secondary School, featuring farmers, prepared foods, local goods, crafters, artisans and food trucks.

Cloverdale Market Days

Located in Historic Downtown Cloverdale, Cloverdale Market Days events run several times each year every summer and is attended by thousands of locals and tourists. Closing the street to traffic, Market Days features 150 vendors and food trucks where you can purchase fresh and prepared goods, browse artisans, and take part in family friendly activities, and local restaurants and shops are open to explore.

Running from 10AM-3PM, the 2023 market days are: June 24, July 29, August 26, September 16

Langley

Langley Community Farmers Market

Originally located at KPU Campus in Langley, the Langley Community Farmers Market relocated to the Derek Doubleday Arboretum in 2021, to be able to better showcase the best produce and local goods of the Fraser Valley. The market runs every Wednesday throughout the summer from 3 -7PM.

Fort Langley Village Farmers Market

The Fort Langley Village Farmers Market features a wealth of fresh local produce from and goods all made with BC grown produce from our local Fort Langley and Langley Township, Fraser Valley, Similkameen, Okanagan and Creston Valley Farms. Don’t miss the craft beers, varietal BC wines & spirits and tasty prepared foods like jams, pickles and sauce as well! Market on Saturdays from 9AM-3PM

Artisan and Farmers Market

Live music, wine, and shopping at a beautiful winery? What’s not to enjoy? Hosted at the Festina Lente Estate Winery and Meadery, the Artisan and Farmers Market is a series of two pop-up markets designed for foodies who believe in supporting local while expanding their culinary horizons. Running June 17 and 24, 11AM – 5PM.
