Where To U-Pick This Summer In Metro Vancouver - West Coast Food

We’re now into one of the sweetest times of the year—berry season! Whether you’re using them to bake, adding them to breakfast, or eating them on their own, we can all agree that Lower Mainland berries are second to none. And one of the best parts of living/visiting here is all the fantastic places you can pick your own. By the basket or bucket full, these spots let you load up and feast on the best strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries that are now in full ripeness. So roll up your sleeves, let’s get picking!

Driediger Farms

Since 1964 Driediger Farms has been supplying Langley and it’s surrounding communities with juicy and flavourful Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Red Currants and Raspberries. The Farm has over 160 acres of berries, with dedicated U-pick fields where you can harvest for yourself. The onsite farm market also sells fresh produce, eggs, ice cream, baked goods, and specialty artisan products where you can give your grocery list some added local flavour.

Surrey Farms

Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries— you can pick them all here without any entrance fee! Run by the Rai family, Surrey Farms puts a focus on the community element of farming, and how learning about the food chain process can teach kids how to better connect with what they eat. Once you’ve loaded up, the friendly staff can help you with tips about how to best preserve your harvest and keep your berries lasting throughout the other seasons.

UBC Farms

GJ Farm

1300 Number 4 Road, Richmond

Known for plump strawberries that pack a punch of flavour, GJ is one of the top berry destinations in Richmond. Of course can pick your own, but there’s no need to be too selective, each one is uniformly delicious! The farm also has a gorgeous sunflower field that you can wander— perfect for taking summer photos with.

Krause Berry Farms

Celebrating 50 years in business, Krause Farms is a community favourite for good reason! In addition to their U-pick berry fields, they have a waffle bar, a bakery, and a winery. You could easily spend the day here! You’ll find blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, each one tastier than the last. Be sure to check which fields are open before you go, though!
