Ah February, the month of love. And there’s nothing we love around here more than food. So may we present February, the month of food-love, and all the ways to celebrate it around Metro Vancouver.

Hot Chocolate Festival, now to February 14th

Greater Vancouver’s “sweetest” celebration returns for its 13th year, larger and more creative than ever, in support of small businesses, local charity organizations and of course, all things hot and chocolate. The region’s best chocolatiers, pastry shops, bakeries, cafes, and ice cream makers are joining forces to elevate the humble hot chocolate into something like drinkable art. Dinner Collaboration With Chef Alex Chen & Chef Lee Cooper, February 1st

Dine Out Vancouver Festival presents this very special dinner from two of Vancouver’s top chefs, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar’s Alex Chen and Lee Cooper at his home restaurant, L’Abattoir. It is as much a culinary experience as a social event where guests are seated at communal tables with wine pairings from L’Abattoir’s Head Sommelier, Andrew Forsyth.

Introduction to Dim Sum, February 4th & 5th

At Jade Dynasty Restaurant, Thomas Robson, chef, author, and host of the Emmy-nominated cooking series, ”Entrée to Asia” (not to mention a long-time resident of Vancouver’s Chinatown) guides eaters through a tour of Dim Sum that is sure to leave no question unanswered and take one’s enjoyment of Dim Sum to a deeper level. The Rotary Club of New Westminster brings back its popular evening of tasty bites from local restaurants paired with tastings from some of the lower mainland’s best craft breweries, wineries and distilleries. You’ll take home a souvenir tasting glass as well as support Rotary programs such as Don’t Go Hungry Food Support and Domestic Abuse Services.

Love is Blind Wine Tasting, February 11th & 12th

Sip Around the World, February 23rd

An exclusive whiskey tasting is happening at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver to raise funds for men’s mental health. You’ll taste over 30 whiskeys from around the world, enjoy appetizers, participate in silent and live auctions, and maybe even win some door prizes. Special guests will also be on hand to further discussion around this important issue.

Beer Yoga, February 25th

Is it really exercising without a beer to quench your thirst? Join the folks from East Van Yoga at Container Brewing for an afternoon of sipping suds and slow stretches. A ticket gets you a 12oz or flight to set down beside your mat where you’ll be guided through an hour-long gentle flow.
